- Previously news and current affairs programmes were broadcast from its different Stations having limited duration.
- The year 2007 witnessed many upheavals such as judicial crises‚ political turmoil‚ assassination of Mohtarama Benazir Bhutto and later holding of national elections in Feb 2008.
- This national scenario prompted PBC to play a pro-active role in dissemination of news and information to the masses and projection of national objectives.

- NBS was launched by integrating five powerful medium waves transmitters in a network to ensure maximum coverage.
- NBS has Seventeen hours daily transmission from 7 am to 12 midnight.
